Nasty Gal Launches A Shoe Cult

By Contributor on August 17, 2013

We’ve never joined a cult before but if it’s a shoe cult, now we’re seriously thinking about it. On August 19, 2103, Nasty Gal is launching its first-ever shoe collection, Shoe Cult, to be sold on its site, alongside its other really great designers and brands. What started as an eBay vintage shop in 2006  by 29-year-old Sophia Amoruso, has turned into an online company that reportedly generates $100 million in sales annually and has just under 300 employees.

Last year, Nasty Gal launched its own line of ready-to-wear (bringing in 30% of its sales), a magazine and now shoes.

“It’s a huge milestone for the company. Being able to give our customers the chance to wear head-to-toe Nasty Gal, well, that feels incredible,” Amoruso wrote on the Nasty Gal blog.

To celebrate the launch, Amoruso hosted an it-girl dinner with: Alexandra Richards, Emily Weiss, Mia Moretti, Jenne Lombardo, Stevie Dance, May Kwok and the list goes on! We haven’t been given a sneak peek of the collection but we have no doubt that we’re going to be swooning over it because Nasty Gal never seems to disappoint. So until Monday, you can join the cult and wait in anticipation!
