Since the world of social media and fashion are constantly interacting, Kenneth Cole has decided to embrace this nature and integrate it into the runway show. His show opened with a video reminding audience members that “During the @kennethcole runway show, out of respect for other members of the audience please make sure your phones and tablets are switched ON,” and that “this show will embrace the intrusive nature of social media.”

Fashion is consumed in different ways and the Kenneth Cole runway wanted to take this relationship to the next level, by encouraging social media to take part in the show. Whether it be through Twitter, Pinterest, Facebook, Foursquare, Vine, or even Kennethcole.com, live updates were constantly pushed forward. To create an interactive experience, a photo booth was placed backstage, along with a Twitter Mirror tweeting from T Magazine.

Since his seven year hiatus from the runway, Kenneth Cole has decided to really tackle the changes that have been taking place. He really wanted to take the backstage and front row experience and bring it to the masses and we all love the exclusive behind-the-scenes access!

From allowing live tweets, pins and updates to closing off the show by having the models, themselves, snap iPhone pictures of their final walk, Kenneth Cole has really made quite the comeback. So what’s his take on the world of social media and fashion colliding?
“We don’t care if people love it, we just want them to ‘like’ it.”
