CrunchBase described Styloola as “a Foursquare on steroids for fashion.” Sounds pretty perfect to us!
Based in Milan, Styloola was in development for much of 2012. Newly released, this FREE app is available for iOS. It came to our attention through its recent partnership with international fashion blogger Chiara Ferragni of The Blonde Salad.
Styloola combines elements from social media heavyweights such as Instagram and Foursquare, but with a fashion and style focus. You can browse through photos of people’s latest purchases, show off your finds and even post your own #OOTD snapshots.
See something on your feed that you just need to have? This is where the Foursquare element comes in; you can tag where you bought items featured in your photos and browse through all the tagged pictures from any tagged shopping location.
The Map and Check-In Your Purchases element is unique to Styloola and will be an awesome resource once its user base grows. When doing a little research of our own, only three results turned up and missing was a well-known shopping mall! Hopefully as more people use the app, greater results will pop up!
What Styloola misses out on without a huge database of users or shops, it gains from its website and social media pages. The app is all over the major social media networks from Twitter to Pinterest and as it is only starting to grow, follower interaction is at a high.
We’ll definitely be keeping an eye on this app as it expands. Check it out for yourself!
