Lacquerous, a company that deems themselves the ‘Netflix for Nails’, is debuting a subscription based service that allows members to ‘rent’ high-end nail polishes for up to a month at a time.

Founders, Ashlene Nand and Liza Kindred, are optimizing the practice after real-life salons – where nail polishes are shared amongst several customers during manicure and pedicure appointments.
Lacquerous offers a wide range of brands for the price of the subscription – Chanel, Dior, MAC and Tom Ford are some of the designer hues available to subscribers. Furthermore, a wide range of 70 shades or hues are available – a shade for every day of the week. Users are allowed to submit ‘Lust List’ requests of their favourite brands and hues, where personal taste and luxurious shades meet.
Ashlene Nand came up with the business idea after her obsession with nail polish and nail art reached substantial heights.
“I started to acquire a nail polish addiction,” states Nand, co-founder, Lacquerous. “But I couldn’t afford to keep buying $30 bottles.”
After realizing there was no business that allowed for the rental of polishes, Nand’s idea was born.
The subscription comes at a price of $18 a month, with a limit of three times per bottle or shade available per customer. All ‘rentals’ are tracked. Lacquerous will track how often you subscribe to a certain brands, as well as how much polish you use. At one time, only three polish bottles are allowed out per time.
What a perfect opportunity to try out luxurious brands and polishes, at a fraction of the price. Take the time out and splurge on yourself!
