Digital Celebrity Profile: Gwyneth Paltrow

Gwyneth Paltrow is an Oscar-winning actress, mom guru, rockstar wife, blogger and the author of a cookbook. In this weeks Digital Celebrity Profile we delve into the life of Hollywood’s leading lady, discovering that there is more to her than meets the eye.

Back to the Beginning:
Gwyneth first debuted on stage in 1990 and landed her first movie role in 1991. She started receiving acclaim for films such as Se7en, where she met her then boyfriend and co-star Brad Pitt. Their high profile relationship lasted three years and Gwyneth called it quits during their engagement. A little while later, she landed her breakthrough role in the 1998 movie Shakespeare in Love for, which she won an Academy Award, a Golden Globe Award, and two Screen Actors Guild Awards. Gwyneth also fell for co-star Ben Affleck and the two had a brief relationship shortly after.

The Apple of her Eye:
Gwyneth met now husband, and lead vocalist of Coldplay, Chris Martin backstage after his concert in 2002. They were married a year later, in a relatively quiet ceremony, by Hollywood standards, in California. Since then they have had two children, Apple and Moses. When the power-couple named their daughter Apple, it made headlines everywhere, sparking a unique name trend among Hollywood’s most privileged children. Gwyneth later opened up to Oprah saying:

“It sounded so sweet and it conjured such a lovely picture for me – you know, apples are so sweet and they’re wholesome and it’s biblical – and I just thought it sounded so lovely and … clean! And I just thought, ‘Perfect!'”

Gwyneth’s Twitter account is only a few months old, but it has over one million followers! She tweets about award shows, personal pictures, and even encourages fans to lend a helping hand in their communities.
