Don’t have time to pop into your local Valentino boutique this week? Why not browse from wherever you are with Valentino’s new virtual Shoe Room for a little retail therapy?

The virtual Shoe Room is just that: a virtual replica of a Valentino boutique right before your eyes and under your fingers. By using your mouse, keypad or finger, if you’re on a tablet, you can virtually glide past the plush couches, marble floors and swanky glass shelving to view the label’s latest collections. Valentino even goes that extra step for authenticity: the collections displayed on the home page of the Shoe Room actually match what is physically for sale on the site. To help celebrate the launch of the Shoe Room, Maria Grazia and Pierpaolo designed two very special edition red pumps for the Rockstud collection. The completely covetable and collectable designs are available exclusively through the virtual boutique.

Once you click on a display you like (you can also choose from a list on the right of the screen) you have the option of viewing each shoe’s specs by flying up a detailed menu window from the bottom of the screen. Although this menu looks pretty similar to any standard page on any standard e-commerce site, arriving at the page via the virtual shoe room beats having to scroll through page after page of lifeless product shots like on other sites. This is just one of the ways Valentino is virtually throwing their hat into the digital ring by giving shoppers a unique experience and giving other e-commerce outlets a run for their money.
