Topshop Launches A Digital ‘Trick Or Tweet’ Competition

By Samantha Johnston on October 25, 2012

Tomorrow Topshop invites brand fans online, and in stores, to ‘Trick or Tweet’ a social media competition celebrating its debut Halloween collection ‘Witching Hour.’ Fans can enter by tweeting @Topshop their favorite Halloween style tips or by send a ghoul chich twitpic in their costume. Just make sure to use the hashtag #TrickorTweet. Shoppers with the best tweets will be receiving $150 gift cards from Topshop. The #TrickorTweet hashtag is encouraged across both Twitter and Instagram platforms. The contest will run from October 26 to 31, 2012.

In select flagship stores, for the first time ever, customers can purchase merchandise using tweets as currency; yes you read that correctly! The ’Topshop Tweet Shop’ will be sending Halloween-inspired make-up in exchange for tweets. Also, customers who visit Topshop store during the selected dates have the option to twitpic themselves in front of in-store ‘Trick or Tweet’ backdrops and posters.

“We love the idea of using Halloween to connect our digital and physical worlds,” says Justin Cooke, Chief Marketing Officer, Topshop. “ We know our customer moves seamlessly between the two and we want to make that experience even more fun for them and drive conversation in our community around a moment that everyone wants to be a part of.”

Additional prizes will be given, in-stores, to Topshop customers dressed in the most inspiring Halloween outfit during the ‘Witching Hour,’ which is between 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. This starts on Saturday October 27, 2012. The winners will be re-tweeted to Topshop followers and an album of the best dressed will be shared online, via multiple social media platforms. To really get into the halloween spirt, complimentary make-overs with a frightening twist will be made available to shoppers. Best of all, DJ performances will ensure that brand fans are getting into the Halloween spirit.
