Brand fans are asked to take a picture of their PUMAs wherever they want (with the geo-tagging on), using the hashtag #travelingPUMAs. They are then entered for a chance to win a PUMA prize pack; winners are announced every Friday. Who knew winning a prize pack could be as easy as taking a picture of your shoes? This is such a clever way to have their fans participate in the brand, while also celebrating a sense of diversity and community all at the same time.

The concept itself is incredibly creative, having PUMA fans take a picture of their shoes wherever they are. Not only does this represent the PUMA brand, but also displays a place that is important to their consumers – in the most creative way possible, of course. It’s a great way of showing that no matter the distance, their fans are all a part of one big PUMA-loving community.

PUMA’s use of Instagram to really drive this campaign was a smart move. Instagram is so easily accessible, it’s a popular fashion tool and it’s a creative way to advertise their shoes – without actually advertising them. It’s an easy way for fans to participate in the campaign because most of the time people on Instagram post pictures of their shoes anyway, why not join the competition?

This campaign keeps their brand active and keeps their fans constantly engaged. It’s also interesting to see just how far the PUMA brand has reached. Past winners have included fans from Virginia USA, Madrid and Atalaya Spain. PUMA really is a global brand and by using all the elements of social media (geo-tagging, hash-tagging, overall sharing) they have changed the shoe game.
