New York Magazine’s fashion blog, The Cut is taking the big leap and [finally] relaunching as a standalone site this Monday. The new version of the site will take a different approach to its editorial content – which is currently focused on style and gossip – to include a wider range of topics including sex, relationships, health and media.
As told by The Business Insider, Adam Moss, Editor-in-Chief of New York Magazine, stated that their goal “was to create a mash-up between a high-end fashion magazine and a blog.” And from the looks of the preview site, they’ve succeeded in doing just that.
With a new focus on super high-res images, slideshows with a zoom function, and 100 new celebrity lookbooks, it sounds like there’s going to be more than enough new content to keep us entertained for hours on end (and we can’t decide if that’s a good thing or not). In addition to these new features, The Cut also realized the importance of street style features when it comes to online magazines, and in response has hired freelance street photographers around the world to capture the looks of the moment.
With 11 editorial staffers, including 7 new hires, and a heavier reliance on its outside contributors, The Cut appears to have transformed itself for the better – and we could not be more excited for this refresher!
