L’Oréal USA has launched a new platform titled ‘Women in Digital’ to support the inspiring females behind some of the most innovative online companies. The winning women were honored on July 17th in New York during the New Generation Awards, and according to WWD, L’Oréal looked for “women who were truly capable of changing the digital landscape”.
“L’Oréal is very excited about the intersection of beauty and technology. This program allows us to redefine how we think of our business model,” says Marc Speichert, L’Oréal’s chief marketing officer. “Women are better equipped to create a better experience for women,” said Speichert. “Men buy and women shop. It’s about re-creating shopping and browsing and how it translates online.”
This year’s winners include:
Doreen Bloch, Founder and CEO of poshly.com
Bettina Hein, Founder and CEO of Pixablity
Sarah McIlroy, Founder and CEO of fashionplaytes.com
Kathryn Minshew, Founder of The Daily Muse
Vivian Rosenthal, Founder and CEO of GoldRun
Selected by a Board of Advisors made up of business leaders such as Huffington Post’s Arianna Huffington and Facebook’s Carolyn Everson, each of the winners will be able to meet L’Oréal USA executives and partners, and have an opportunity to be mentored internally through the members of the advisory board.
Speichert adds, “It is a win-win — a combination of creative and technology and new ways of thinking.”
