Eye on E-Commerce: MR PORTER

Too often the retail world is taken over by women and their shopping habits, so it’s nice to see a fresh new menswear site in the spotlight.

MR PORTER has dutifully been noted as the male version of NET-A-PORTER, which in the growing male market is definitely needed. The e-commerce platform, much like it’s sister site, provides to men a range of high fashion designers including Yves Saint Laurent, Gucci, Balenciaga and Loro Piana. The site showcases a huge range of products from clothing and shoes, to bags, books, and even pocket squares.

Another defining characteristic of this site is their style help section. This section is described on the site as, Tips, Advice, Information and Inspiration, and rightfully so. It includes style advice and Q&A, and a style vault of male icons from Mr. Pablo Picasso to His Imperial Majesty Haile Selassie– with the option to buy pieces similar to their style.

MR PORTER is also very in touch with the growing digital market– they have their own i-phone app, so that you can enjoy expert, on-the-go style advice, whenever you want it. You can also keep in touch and up to date with them via Tumblr, Twitter, YouTube and Facebook. Now wasn’t that efficient?
