What’s better than one brand using social media to promote their new product line? Two brands of course! Swarovski and Jason Wu are collaborating for Wu’s 2013 resort collection and it seems like they’ve mastered the art of the social media campaign.
Opposed to the traditional approach of a runway show, this line is going to be debuted exclusively online via both brands’ websites, Facebook pages and YouTube channels. Wu will also be sharing personal behind-the-scenes photos and previews of the collection via Instagram and Tumblr.
Wu explains in the behind-the-scenes video how he loves to take two totally opposing ideas and mesh them into one throughout the collection. This particular line is a combination of insects and the concept of man-made nature, both of which are evident throughout the designs. The pieces in the collection contain hundreds of Swarovski crystals in the varying shapes of insects and flowers and no doubt make Wu’s designs unique and eye-catching.
