One of our favorite fashion blogs seems to have jumped on the e-commerce band wagon and we couldn’t be more excited! Refinery29, the online fashion magazine with more than 5 million readers, has decided to include an e-commerce option within its editorial content. Readers will now be able to purchase items being mentioned within the article straight from the site. Brands such as Rebecca Minkoff, Steven Alan and Keds Apparel are among the initiatives launch partners.
It makes perfect sense that a fashion blog with such a high readership has decided to incorporate e-commerce. The readers of R29 are obviously interested in the products they are reading about so why wouldn’t they be interested in being able to purchase them? In support of this, Refinery 29′s Vice President of Business Development, Patrick Yee, has said “We’ve gotten to a size where the audience is interested in shopping our point of view.” Although it might be a given that any loyal reader of the blog is a natural born online shopper.
We’re all expectantly waiting to see just what Refinery29 will be selling throughout their editorial content, and since their Vice President of Commerce, Nizzi Karai Renaud has stated that “We would never sell anything we weren’t writing about or weren’t into,” we have a feeling we won’t be disappointed!
