The fashion world is reeling with news that Alexander Wang has been hit with a 50 million dollar lawsuit from 30 of his employees, alleging unsafe working conditions. The workers say they were forced to work for 16 hours or more a day without overtime pay in a windowless office. Sound nightmare-ish? One worker alleges that he had to be hospitalized after a 25 hour shift, and was promptly fired after applying for worker’s comp. The designer, by contrast, earned a whopping $25 million in 2011, and recently hired supermodels Gisele, Karolina Kurkova and Shalom Harlow to walk his NYFW Fall 2012 show. Wang has not yet commented on the lawsuit.
