Who to Follow: Fashion x Social Media

Can’t make it to NYFW this year? No problem, Social Media has you covered. From Twitter to Instagram to Tumblr we’ve compiled a list of your best bets for your daily dose of fashion.

YouTube x Maybelline live NYFW broadcast
The cosmetics brand and the video sharing website are pairing up again this year to broadcast more than 25 shows live from the following link: youtube.com/liverunway. That means you can watch all the major shows – front row – without worrying about scoring a prestigious and oh-so-elusive pass.

At last year’s NYFW, Tumblr was on the forefront of the social media explosion as it created a splash page for everything tagged with “nyfw”. This meant a constant stream of updated information, and pictures for consumption. This year, WWD, Teen Vogue and DKNY PR Girl are our picks for up to date NYFW information. Other than NYFW, be sure to check out Coco Rocha’s great tumblr page.

This incredibly popular photo sharing app is also a great place to keep up to date on NYFW goings on.  Eva Chen, Teen Vogue’s beauty director, is a worthwhile follow as is Oscar de la Renta’s ubiquitous PR girl, Erika Bearman.

Twitter will definitely be your go-to destinations for up to the minute fashion news this NYFW. @nyfw is obviously a great follow, as is any fashion journalist or editor who will undoubtedly be there covering the news (and there will be plenty).

Style.com is a great site for really through, comprehensive coverage of any of the events and runway shows. If that site doesn’t satisfy your NYFW needs, Vogue.com and Heard on the Runway offer great coverage as well.
