Bold hues on the bottom, neutrals on top, or any variation of the two, color-blocking trends have carried over into yet another seasonal trend.
So what is color-blocking anyway? It simply means creating areas or “blocks” of solid color by placing next to one another.
Color-blocking started as the brighter colors of spring started to come into play. There are always a few trends that stick and color-blocking is definitely not going away any time soon. So whether you’re going out on the town, or heading into the classroom make sure to incorporate various versions of this eye-popping color combo.
We have even seen color-blocking go as far as nail designs.
A really cool trick to keep in mind when trying to strategically place contrasting colors is the rule of two-thirds, which simply means that by creating an equal-sided triangle shape on the color wheel, you are guaranteed to create a complimentary trio of colors to help style your next color-blocked outfit.
