Deemed as a creative chameleon by Vogue magazine, Alex Turvey, a British director, set designer and screenwriter, is continuously inspired by surrealism.
Recently hailed as one of “Fashion’s New Generation “ by Vogue, as well as one of the fifteen “Creatives Who Will Define The Future of British Arts” by the Independent, Turvey has undoubtedly made a mark on the fashion and arts world well before his 30th birthday.
Turvey, 28, who has claimed he does not draw much of his inspiration from reality, creates unsettling dreamscapes that are dark, beautiful and well…sort of spooky.
His dark stylized aesthetics have caught the eye of some of the biggest names in the industry including: Burberry, Nike, Levis, Shakira, SEAT, Ford, Daisy Lowe, Dazed & Confused, Cooper, Ogilvy, Vice, MTV, Topshop, Oxfam, Budweiser, Nike, Sugar Puffs, and many more. Many of which he has worked together with to create commercials, art instillations, music promos and fashion films.
Mimicking black magic imagery, his latest fashion film entitled Bare Bones plays on our senses as it is coupled with an eerie soundtrack by UK experimental outfit Blanck Mass.
The film displays couture by Iris van Herpen, a designer from the Netherlands who brings a futuristic element to all of her pieces.
Take a venture into escapism with Alex Turvey…if you dare.
